Planning tools
This section holds the tools on Server Hosting Experts. Each runs in your browser on figures you type in, makes no network requests with them, and says plainly what it is and is not.
Migration readiness planner
The migration readiness planner is for organisations with a server move in prospect. It takes your inventory, dependency, downtime tolerance, data volume, link speed, cutover method, rollback and DNS position, and returns a readiness level, the transfer-time arithmetic worked step by step, a suggested sequence, the risks your answers raise, an outline rollback plan and a cutover checklist.
It is a rule-based planning aid. It has not examined your servers or network, and it does not recommend suppliers, quote prices or promise outcomes.
The comparison matrix
If you have not yet decided where to move, start with the architecture comparison matrix. It sets dedicated servers, colocation, virtualised hosting, private cloud and public cloud against the requirements that most often decide the choice, and shows how to weight them for your own situation.
